As most will probably tell you, the real cost is not in the money but in the blood, sweat and tears that go along with it that you can't add up. Usually the thrill of driving one offsets this 'cost'. Just read the 'you know you drive a CJ thread' sometime

Yeah I totally understand, my TJ was 11K, completely stock. In about 3 years I completely transformed it myself, close to 5K invested, and I did all of the hard work myself. When people tell me I should sell it cause it's a gas hog and has a hard time doing 70+ on the hwy, I tell them I just can't. It's not about the money, it's just to hard to because of all the hours invested in my garage alone with it.

Sorry I missed this the other day. I am keeping the factory fuel injection on the 5.3. After wheeling both I'll keep injection! Definitely PM me and we can plan something. A few weeks ago I took Momma's JKU up Freeway Ridge, Black Gulch, then went Rancheria into Wofford Heights, then through Keysville and back down Freeway Ridge. We had a great time. There's always room for more!!

This is cheating, but it looks a bit like a CJ... This is a '92 YJ. Until my boys are out of high school it will keep the FI 4 banger, but I'm collecting parts for a FI 302 to take it's place.

No I sold the rack, it was pretty easy to make, I welded some perches on the cage and built the rack to size, it was 5/8" square tube, cost about 46.00 as I recall.
