CJ5's with Meyers / Orville Hardtops

Anyone have pictures of their CJ5 with the steel hardtop made by Meyers and Orville?

Check out this link, there are a bunch of good pictures including the hardtop, half-cab hardtop, and some other Meyer parts made for the CJ5 and CJ6.

I just installed a '79 Orville hardtop on my '83 CJ5. I need to fabricate the windshield to door filler plates. I like the red and white combination.

I am hoping to see some others with these tops. If anyone has any parts for these hardtops let me know.

Anyone have any pictures of how they finished the interior of one of these tops?

This one is mine:

Though I do not have the keys to the door/tail locks. Not sure if the lock system can be replaced, or if the entire handle has to be swapped?

If you look at the locks on your doors and rear hatch you will see a number. It should start with BP and then three numbers BPXXX. BP is Bauer Products Bauer Products - Home and they are still in business. If you give them the number they will sell you keys.

Cool- With the top being so old, I just assumed that I'd have to replace the entire lock assembly.

Granted, I'd already mangled the rear hatch lock since it was locked when I bought it. In fact, the previous owner did not have the keys either, so when he painted the top, he just painted it shut.

To update- I sent BP an email on Monday, and Friday I have a set of keys for $2.50! That is impressive customer service. (and they work perfectly)

Thanks for the link KMan-

The old Meyers / Orville steel hardtops(at least the ones I have) used door and rear hatch handles made by Bauer Products. Bauer is still in business http://www.bauerproducts.com/index.htm and I was able to give them the number on my latches (BPxxx) and order new keys. You can also order new latches. I found that the A.L.Hansen Maufacturing(www.alhansen.com) stocks many replacement parts for these tops. The interior door latch/locks match up with their #56 Cab Lock ( http://www.alhansen.com/pdfs/cat103/cat103_pg021.pdf) and the #55 lock( http://www.alhansen.com/pdfs/cat103/cat103_pg020.pdf ) is basically the same but also available in stainless. I believe the optional inside override is the interior lock. It looks as though the center section of the #94 door lock is the replacement for my rear latch(the rods are reversed from mine but I don't see that as a problem) and I think the #105 Lock Kit may be the same as the other style rear latch but I'll have to take some measurements at my dads to confirm it. They have several of these style latch/lock kits http://www.alhansen.com/prd_lockkit.html . Their Manual Door Support Arms http://www.alhansen.com/pdfs/cat103/cat103_pg097.pdf (Part #263099) are the same dimensions as both the Atwood supports and Jedco supports that are in my tops rear hatches but have one slightly different bracket(which I don't think would be a problem either). You can purchase the window track through www.restorationspecialties.com . I hope this info helps out some of you guys that are repairing these cool old hardtops.

Crappy photo, I will get a good picture some day after I fabricate the rear of the tub and then I can set the top back on.

Top.

Rust issues, lol

I'm hoping to make up some glass patterns soon for those who need to get new glass made up. I'll make a pattern for the "Deluxe" or "5 Window" rear corner glass also along with a pattern of the factory corner glass opening.
