I removed the chrome cover on my grill and it is all scratched so I will be doing duplicolor black this weekend..... but my jeep is black. Trying to decide if I want to match the gloss or go with flat black. Leaning towards flat because I plan on doing flat black on the flares and rockers when I get them

Just out of curiosity, what's involved with pulling the grill?

I've been considering painting mine black as well, but haven't looked into what is involved with removing it.

Why remove it? Tape it, sand it (red scotchbrite), put news paper or card board between the grill and radiator and spray it. You can back out the fender bolts if you wish and don't forget to remove the head light bezels and paint them too.

Well, I have a winch on my front bumper that sits very close to the grill. I don't believe that I could paint behind it. Also, that dang winch weighed a freaking ton when I was mounting it up by myself. I'm not really looking forward to pulling it back off anytime soon....

What would be the process of removing the grill to do this. Or should I just do it with the grill on?
