My neighbor asked me when I first got it what I planned to do to it. I replied nothing, it's a Jeep, it doesn't need anything.

Obviously I didn't know where this was all headed.

Haven't posted here in ages. Nice F650 Matt. I'm looking at a Dakar myself.

Heya Jeffy! Just recently came back myself. Had to give up most of the Jeep forums due to working for a living. That's actually a Dakar. I bought the black panels from the GS cause I didn't care for the paint on the Dakar and really dug the way the black GS looks. I still have the Dakar panels. I've put them on once and really liked it for some reason. But had to put the black back on or my ol'lady would have kicked my butt after what we paid for them!

Envious again! I need something else so I can park the Jeep in the garage and finish up the drivetrain. I've been checking out ADVrider.com and really like the Dakar. Either that or a KTM 640 ADV. I want get some aluminum panniers to go with it, too. Used seems the way to go since they really take a dive in price once they leave the showroom...

KTM is a great bike, but damn the seat is high. As is the case with most of the dual sports. I had to find something above 600cc but low enough to at least tippy toe. That's where I'm at on the Dakar. Man, I do love driving it. And I'm getting just shy of 60mpg!

The day after i bought it (August '05)

and now: added 1 inch BL, trimmed the fender flares, 33x12.5 inch MT/Rs, and a few other things you cant see like a sound bar, sound wedges, whole new stereo system basically.
