I'm leaning toward some sort of violation. It is a good thing no other Jeepers saw you.

lol Ok I just bought a JK and while I could handle the ribbing or all out disdain for my Jeep if I put big rims on it, I was and am seriously considering putting 22s on it, but if it would in ANY way shape or form resemble that Sahara that had it's pic posted, I would be mortified. I'm not going to take it off road, I live in the city and well offroading just isn't my thing, but I had been considering black 22s with 285 50 22 Terra Grapplers.

Now, can anyone show a pic of a vehicle with 22s on them or could anyone tell me just how short the sidewall is on a 50 series tire? I really don't want to go really low profile and sacrifice the ride quality, nor do I want to have any fitment issues (rubbing, etc).

I'm pretty sure the Jeep in that pic has something close to 22's on it. Give or take a couple of inches.

grewe02's jeep used to have some 20's or 22's or somewhere around there. I'll see if i can find a link.

Edit: Forgot it needed to be a JK but heres the link for a TJ on 20-somethings....http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showt...=410273&page=2 towards the bottom of the page.

Sold the 98 TJ Sahara. Buying another Jeep soon!

Well the picture of that TJ makes it very clear really low profile tires on a jeep just dont' go well together. The size of the rim doesn't too awful, but those tires on anything wouldn't be real fun to ride on, but especially a jeep.

I would have shaken my head back and forth dramatically to make sure he saw me.

While you (not you in particular but most people) secretly wished your Jeep was that nice. I'd trade my jeep for that in a heartbeat. Wait it's not cool to say that out loud.

what if the 20" rims were painted black, or black steelies? would opinions change about "bling"? i think 20" rims, with tall sidewall tires lok really good on the JK.
