You should not mount anything bigger than a 31x10.5" tire on a stock TJ. Add atleast a 2" REBB for 32" tires, and add a 1" BL for 33" tires. The 33" tires will fit, but it will be very stuffed... and if they are 11.5" or wider, you need wheel spacers if you are using stock Jeep wheels.

By the way, are you sure they are 33s? You mentioned 265/75/16 with stock Moab wheels, that would be 32x10.5x16 which will work fine on your TJ without the need for wheel spacers.

You can't run 33s on a stock TJ without them rubbing like crazy on the fenders.

31s are the biggest that you should go... 32s are possible but rub a lot.

a 265/75 is not a 33, its a 32x10.50... currently im running just a BB with rubicon coils and re monotubes. i disconnected it the front once i was done and jacked up one side to see how much flex i have.... still i pretty damn good amount. rides like a caddy now

Ran 33x12.50 Baja Claws for almost 3 months on stock lift. Contrary to popular belief, they did not rub the fenders one single time. No, I would not drive any serious trails until a lift is installed, though.

You are all wrong. The 245/75r16 tires on a stock Rubi are NOT 32 inches. These are the same size I had on my Liberty and they are actually 30.5 inches tall. A 265/75r16 is actually 31.6 I can't remember where I saw it but if you google it you should be able to find a metric to standard tire conversion chart that will prove this.

Edit: I found a chart on Quadratec http://www.quadratec.com/jeep_knowle...article-15.htm

What are you talking about? Nobody said anything about stock Rubi wheels, and several people had already mentioned that tehe 265/75/R16 is a 32" tire. Just trying to figure out who you're calling wrong.

The original poster did say stock Rubi wheels and since he seems to think they are 33 inch tires, I posted that info in case he was wrong about the actual tire size on those stock wheels. It sounds to me like he is getting the Rubi take-offs when his buddy upgrades to a new tire and wheel package so in fact they would probably be the 245 which is 30.5 inches. And besides the 265 is only 31.6 inches so it is nearly half an inch short of being a 32.

The tires are a 265/75/r16. I just picked them up from my friend. He bought an "X" about a month ago and got the dealership to order him the Rubi Wheels and he also got them to order him 265/75/r16's. He never placed these on his "X" due to him selling it before he could mount them. He got a new job immediately after he bought the jeep and this jeep was his DD and just wasn't going to work for him.

Thanks to all of you for your help. You have ALL been great

The original post distinctly says "265/75/r16 mtr's on stock rubi wheels" Not "stock rubi wheels and tires"
