Hey boondaba I'm also a member of Penobscot Valley 4 Wheel Drive. There is a bunch of us from the Bangor area. We do some wheeling in Frankfort, Bucksport, and Orland which are short trips for you.

Careful mate... Here in Maine, there's a $500 fine if you get caught (even by just a passer-by) on the power lines... the only legitimacy is if you are on a trail that CROSSES the lines... if you're running along them, you're playing with fire! There's tons of places to wheel that won't cost you the equivalent of two lock-rites!

Check out Midcoastjeep.com They're down in your area and PV4WD.com is good friends with their owner. They attend our central-maine meetings almost every month. Russ is a good guy, a little strict at times about proper wheeling etiquette, but he means well and wants everyone to be safe and have fun.

Check em out, they might have some runs planned in the next month or two. I know his XJ has been in and out of the shop for a few months now but I THINK he's back running again.

I know their computer-consultant runs a pretty sweet XJ and he's on Jeepforum here.

Hey Barrows, where are those trails that you've got your red rig on with all the rocks? Looks fun!

I know we'll be running PDK this summer... probably a few times! lol!

You guys should check out www.pv4wd.com ... we're just starting to gear up for our summer runs and have a few expedition camping trips we've got planning in the works for. We're also planning a trip down to the GAJR in the fall that will include a run on a nearby trail the day prior.

Where's your Western Maine camp? My family has a camp in Woodstock if you're anywhere near there.
