I think, if I were to buy it, I would only take care of what NEEDS taking care of and leave it the way it is.
That sir, is awesome.

That sir is an M151 MUTT built from '59-82. Cool but dangerous on public roads (cause of that suspension)

Found this old warhorse in a junkyard near Galion, Ohio. I was told it has D44s front and rear and a 360 AMC when I walked back into the office but I did not look while I was out there. Sounds like an old school custom build if that information was accurate. Can't help but wonder how in the hell it ended up here:

How's the rest of the rig? Would it be worth digging out of that mess or would it be too much of a hassle?

I was looking at other things for the most part (like a complete HP D30 and Durango steering gear box). It is parked wayyy back up that row right against the fence. I asked about it when I got back up the the office.
There are many parts that are salvageable off of this rig but in my opinion the body was getting on towards shot. Rusty pans, fenders, and rockers. Someone determined enough could bring this back to life. My guess is that by "360" the fella really meant "304" but you never know. I can't confirm or deny the D44's thing. Frame did not look too bad. Gauges and interior are all basically complete. It has lift springs for sure and it looks like someone's old trail rig. Take a look at the L channel bolted under the rockers and the light bar. Clevis tabs on the front bumper.
Someone had fun in this one. Zeger's Auto Salvage, Galion, Ohio off of Rt. 19 if you want to take a look. Not sure if they will sell it complete or if it can be titled again.

This is correct. There is one exactly like that hiding in the brush here in town beside my friend's house. I posted a pic of if some pages back. Really interesting vehicles.

Yep, my dad drove these when he was in the Army, they weren't really dangerous for a guy like him with experience in short 4x4s, but some of the kids from the cities had no idea how to handle those Jeeps and rolled them. Humvees were just starting to come into the military when dad got out.
