80 cj7 v8 with cj5 motor

i have a 1980 cj7 v8 with a 73 cj5 v8 engine there both amc 304 v8 5.0's
It runs but now im trying to hook up the alternator that it came with. there was a big "U" looking bracket that was on it but the reason I took it off waqs the Delco alternator was hitting the oil filter. I went out got different brackets and stuff. clears the oil filter but now the bolt that's used for the upper mount on the alternator wont go through. has anyone had this problem if so can you please snap a picture of you running an 80 v8 alternator on a 73 engine and which parts to pull them off of I reaslly need to get this done soon please
thanks steve
