45" or 50" wide roof rack.

So I am gonna get a Surco roof rack. I like them 60" long as that covers the entire length of the factory XJ rack. at 45" wide it covers the cross beam and I think that is good enough. at 50" wise it is almost as wide as the roof. maybe too big. Once I put the hilift on one side and the shovel on the other.

I figure I should see some roof rack pics before I go for it...

I guess a mounting preference as well. stock roof rack adapters or gutters...?

I had a 45x60 surco on my xj. I loved it. Mounted it on a Thule cross bar system that came with the xj. They mounted on the gutters

I think the 45 is the way to go. I think the 50 might stick out too much with the hilift on it...
