304 v8 in a cj2a

anybody have any pics of this. what im possibly doing to mine and would like to see some others with it.

i also want to see pics of this. i have a cj2a that i want to do this to. i have a chance to get a 76 cj5 with a 304. not scared of the fab, just wanna see pics. thanks

304 in any early CJ is a bad idea, they are too light. The engine will make the entire truck front heavy and throw off everything, including steering. Plus, you will have to modify things like the firewall and frame to mount it and even fit it in there.. Otherwise, it would be sick. But a V-6 should be more than enough power for a CJ2, drop a 225 in there.

I put a 350 in my cj2a and steering is fine. The 350 is 100 pounds more than the stock motor. Not sure what the 304 weighs in at. The v6 is a good choice do to the shorter length. I had to modify the fire wall and stretch the nose.

Well plans change a lot. I was gonna use a 350, then went to the 304 which i have in my possesson. But lately I have been thinking of keeping the original 4 cyl in it.
