3 foot Firestik 2 on a TJ

Anyone with a 3 foot firestik (or any CB antenna) mounted on the back of a TJ, preferably with the teraflex mounting bracket or anything similar that puts it towards the top of the jeep

Hit the wrong button. Do you just want pictures of the mount or mount with 3 foot? I might have one with the 3 foot. I use to have one but went to the 4 foot when it broke.

I did have one with the 3 foot. So here you go, first the mount.

My LJ with the 3 footer

And my buddies with a 5 footer with the same mount.

When I first installed a CB years ago, I used a 4' Firestick with that mount. It would hit the garage door opening every time I pulled in.
Problem was solved when I broke that antenna first wheeling trip in the woods on a low hanging branch.

I have since been running a 3'.

4'

3'

Not the best pic but you get the idea, 3'+ spring mounted on the tailgate about the same height as the TF bracket. If I had to do it again I think I would do 2' so I could leave it on all the time., It doesn't fit through the garage door with the antenna on.

Did the spring not help with allowing it in the garage?

When it was more stockish yes. But now that its taller it makes an awful lot of racket and bends alot. I'm pretty sure it will break after repeated beating even with the spring.

If you wheel in a wooded area that stiff firestick will break. I swapped from a firestick to a Wilson flex and never have a issue hitting branches anymore. Just my .02

Made my own mount out of some scrap steel. Sits lower than the TF bracket.

06 Rubi, 4" coils, long arm, 3 link front, based on RE belly pan. Outboarded rear shocks.

Will it affect reception if it's not taller than the jeep? I've been getting my shopping list set up for my cb but my jeep barely fits in my garage, and a tall antenna would jam up on the garage door when it closes
