3.5" Lift TJ and LJ Need Pictures Please!!!

Hey everyone, I have an 06' LJ and I want to lift it! I Need to fit my 32" tires and I want it to look good but have some room in the wheel wells! The 4" lifts look too big and is too expensive since 33's would be needed and the 3" looks too small. I am having trouble finding a 3.5" lift. I can't afford to pay 2k on a lift, I am at Technical Training in the military so I'm not making a ton of cash. Right now my Jeep has the 32's and they grind on every bump and off roading is a teeth grinder! Please show some pictures of your Jeep and tell me what you did! I was told body lifts are bad, but I know nothing about them, I want to try and install myself, if thats not possible I can go to a local shop. Thanks!

Chris,

your LJ looks awesome! That is the exact look I am going for! What bumper is that? I am afraid of doing a body lift, what are the benefits? If thats hows yours looks at 4.25" I may go around that size..How expensive was all the parts and labor if you don't mind me asking? LOVE THE HARD TOP!

Thanks. My jeep camp hardtop only when I bought her. I fiddled around with safari tops and such until a was able to find a used soft top. Now it's not worth the effort to switch to the safari. Wife and daughter are redheads, so it helps to keep them in the shade when possible.

Front bumper is a Rokmen Mercenary Full Coverage. Love it, very stout. Rear is a RockHard bumper with the swing away arm (came with the Jeep).

The LJ has a lot of body behind the stock axle location, and likes to drag its butt coming down off obstacles. I installed a Savvy gas tank skid in the raised position (option to have it the stock position), which necessitated the body lift.

I did all the labor myself, so not much help for you there. In parts...I try to get things on sale or with a discount, but I've spent my money on quality parts. I probably have close to 4k in parts on her right now.

Spyder6, your Jeep looks great too! I don't think I can afford to drive mine with 37's but it makes me a little more confident with getting a smaller lift. 04GC, How does the RC lift hold up? Ive heard alot of mixed reviews on it..it makes me a little pensive. Your Jeep looks great aswell! I really like your front bumper! Drastiq, You can fit those tires without rub with a 3.5" lift? I love the green front axle! Thank you all for the input, I am still looking at lifts..I like the Rubicon Express 3.5" lift, I just don't know what it will look like or if I can afford it. Anyone know anything about it? Thanks again!

The lift is holding up good, I too was a lil concerned but I found a vender on here, THEJEEPHUT and he gave me a KILLER deal on the lift and wheels, I got the full lift and 5 wheels for what the ZONE lift was going to cost me, so for now the RC will do with my budget...and thanks, I love my ARB setup :-)

You might want to not lift it at all. If you are running 32s and don't plan on going any bigger you could put on a pair of tube fenders on the front and get the room you need. Some sheet metal work on the back and you will clear with very little problems. That would allow the money to be spend on some body armor. Whatever you decide the smaller the lift the better your Jeep will handle on and off road. I run 33s on only 3" lift with no rubbing and no problems. I am not out at Moab but for the trail runs I do in the Midwest it works great.
