WK2 San Juans/Silverton June 2012

The misses and I took a road trip from Houston to Durango last June. Then backpacked for a couple days in the San Juans. Then drove to Silverton and went around Animas Forks, Howardsville, Eureka and that area. Since we were alone with no other Jeeps we only went a few miles up Engineer Pass from Animas Forks. We hope we will go this summer again and go to Ouray and Telluride. So there are photos of the trip in general.

Old Hundred Mine in Howardsville. This picture is supposed to show the Mine's Dormatory almost at the top of the mountain. Quite Impressive to say the least. A tram was taken to get there and back. It is a 2 1/2 story building.

Hoping this summer except going to spend more time wheeling than backpacking. I still have some mods to do before the trip. Winch, all the junk to go with the kit, an air compressor (still looking for a good OBA location. WK2 doesnt have many). And a full size spare. I mean, it came with the stock size but I need the size I have now.
