Turkey Bay ORV - Land Between the Lakes - Kentucky Oct 2011

Turkey Bay ORV - Land Between the Lakes Kentucky

http://www.lbl.org/OHV.html

October 20-22, 2011

$15 for 3 day pass, an amazing deal.

Weather was perfect. Trails are dry. Kentucky Lake was low enough that all beachfront trails were ridable. 95% of all trails where completely dry.

Here is a link to all the pictures: http://photobucket.com/turkeybayoct11 Some of the better ones I posted into the thread below.

Turkey Bay has good trails for stock and modified Jeeps. I did see one full size Chevy but a large truck would not fit through most trails. Most tough obstacles had bypasses. I had to be winched up one hill but guys with 33's and lockers made it up that hill without too much trouble. Very hilly, some washouts, black dirt in wooded areas, small rocks (3"-6") on trails near lake. Some soft red clay in some areas. I would reccomend the area for stock Jeeps with A/T tires. If nothing else, the scenery is beautiful.

Crowds were non existant Thursday and Friday. Saturday had a bit more people, but there was no point where we had to wait in line for trails.

We had six Jeeps in our group. No damage besides two tires that were patched.

Don't get caught in the lake with a vehicle. The park rangers frown on that and you will end up with a big fine. FYI

I see you found Buttpucker Hill!!

Turkey Bay is a really nice place to ride!

It was alot of fun. I live in northwest Indiana so it wasn't close for us either. The $220 I spent in gas to tow the Jeep down there and back was the most expensive part of the trip.

Some ATV guys saw him in there and told us the same thing. He got out quickly. They should really put that in bold large print on the map they give you.

Should be able to get directions from the link but best I can remember it right by the golden pond welcome center on the trace in LBL. I'm about an hour from there but haven't been in a long time. What part of tn you from? I'm in the nw corner about 15 min from ky.
