Sedona, AZ

Just got back from a week vacation in Sedona. We rented an 06 LJ and spent more time sightseeing than wheeling, but we still had plenty of fun.

Here's our ride on Broken Arrow:

With the Pink Jeeps:

Another couple on Broken Arrow:

On Schnebly Hill Road:

I'll be posting more as I go through them.

I searched and couldn't find a name for this trail, but here's the forest service marker we found at the end:

It was raining that day, so the conditions made for some slick climbs and descents with the stock GSAs. Unfortunately, it also made it difficult to get many pictures. It wasn't terribly challenging, but a pleasant surprise after a day of travelling smooth graded forest service roads.

Some more:

Some more random scenes:

I'm still cleaning it up, but the rest of the album can be found here:

Yeah, the poor guy who buys that thing from the rental company is in for a surprise if he ever crawls under it and looks at the skids. And the diffs. And the control arms.

I so argree. In Ouray last weekend, there were a lot of rental Jeeps out and about. I wouldn't look to buy a used Jeep in that part of the world...

Great photos btw. Looks like I'll have to keep that area in mind...

That is a pretty fun trail. If there are alot of Pink Jeep tours that day, it can get a little packed on the trail. That trail can be a little rough on a stock LJ. I ran it just after I lifted mine and it did great, but stock I'm not sure I would go with my Jeep.

The stuff in Sedona is okay, but about 3/4s of the way to Phoenix is were its at. Table Mesa has some really great wheeling!
As does Superior and Florence Junction.

Broken Arrow is a nice trail, as is (I think) Diamond Back Gultch. Any of the tour shops can tell you where it is. I had a blast out there!

I miss the desert!

Visit the Grand Canyon

Sedona is a great base camp if you want to see the Grand Canyon. My wife and I rolled Sedona on our 10th anniversary. We stayed at a nice bed and breakfast (The Lodge at Sedona), and then drove to the Grand Canyon. The off roading was tame but incredibly beautiful. We had a great time. The Grand Canyon took our breath away. Now we are dreaming about a week long rafting trip down on the canyon.
