Scenic Ride

As usual went wheelin by myself and had a great time found some new trails right above my house that are scenic and a bit harder. Broke the bolts behind my hub once again.

Nice pics, but honestly, you should never go wheeling by yourself.. Extremely dangerous and a very poor practice. Always at least two vehicles or I don't go, even if that means I don't go for a very long time... Safety first...

No offense or anything, but I will continue to go very often jeeping solo. I believe I have explained myself before on another thread in this section. I live in RURAL CA and most of my friends do not have a 4x4 and the ones who do dont always have my schedule. It is no more dangerous going out alone in the woods than getting on an extremely crowded hwy I grew up in these woods, I know all to well what can happen in the woods, I worked for the forest service for 7 years starting at the young age of 16 and I spent most of my summers in the woods alone. So I dont see me changing my habits anytime soon. Thanks again for you input, but as far as I can see you and I dont see EYE to EYE on this

BTW, I almost always let somebody know where I will be and what time I left.

That came with the jeep when I purchased it. Its off of a Mack Truck

And did you notice that I was rolling solo in most of those trail reports?

As nice as that sounds, you can never prepare for the unexpected ya know? I have seen and heard bad thing (including personal experiences) with going alone. In every instance I've known the area. Including the one that I have been going to since I was 6 years old. Not trying to be a dick, just a fellow jeeper looking out for another

oh, and cool pictures LOL

Not to shabby Hey

See what I mean, I can see my darn house from those pics and these guys are flaming me for going alone. Sheesh, I commute 50 minutes each way to work all alone, does that make me unsafe too?

eh, I go alone up to some hunting trails in a wildlife preserve near my house . . . I'm only 30 minutes from home, 15 minutes from a very good friend and my cell phone works perfectly on all the trails. Would I go alone somewhere completely new? nope. Would I go to the middle of nowhere? nope. Would I do anything remotely close to hardcore alone? nope. But, it isn't an absolute no-no in my book.

I hope to be staying in the Truckee area for several days at the end of the month (June). Looks lke there isn't a lot of snow left. Maybe we can hook up for a run on some of the trails north of Truckee.

I am down in Rocklin and come up that way to wheel frequently to wheel with friends that live up there. My jeep is not completely trail worthy yet, but I should have it done by the end of the month.
