The "new" Reiter Trails

For years near Goldbar WA. there was a trail area called Reiter Pit. It was a free for all and trails were made everywhere. The area was DNR property and a local dumping ground. Every year 4x4 clubs and motorcyclists cleaned the area so DNR allowed the use. So some people wanted to turn the area into a off road park, as it worked out the area was closed and plans put into place. 5 years later trails are being built by DNR contractors, here is our first trip out to the new trails. Not very long but some are very difficult.
The first big rock pile, I had to take the easy around, the LJ was too long to not drag the center.

Brent's JK.

Larry's YJ, well mostly YJ.

There is a connector trail that cuts across the main trail, this is the Gatekeeper. Had to winch across.

After seeing me winch twice in 40ft Larry and Brent decided not to do the connector trail.

The Gatekeeper at the other end.

Had to pull the DNR guy back on the road.

Basically they make the trails by stacking boulders and filling in with gravel, it does work and will probably only get harder. There is another trail open now so we will have to make another trip.

Always bring a compass, it is awkward to have to eat your friends.

That is impressive. Cool pictures.

And that's nice of you to help out the DNR.
