Three of us headed out for the last trailrun up here for the year. There was about a foot of snow from the last 24 hours and it made for a fun day. We had to do a few bypasses as a lot of rigs ahead of us slickened up the trail too much in some places. This was OK with me, as they're trails no one else uses and is a change from the usual. As you can see in the vids, even some places I've never had issues before, were pretty slick. Jeff even slid off a bridge!
One of our own then fell and hurt his back, so after Naches Pass we took to an old logging road breaking trail all the way. After we sent him on his way, the 2 of us left, decided to go up to Little Bald mountain lookout and Clover Springs trails. Basically we were in a blizzard the rest of the day. It almost felt like the winds could blow the Jeeps over the cliff!
We only saw one track here so the trails offered very good traction, but there was definately alot of ups and downs requiring locker use and heart stopping slides downhill. You definately better know how to stop downhill slides without touching your brakes here!
As we pulled into Jacks, an ambulance pulled in from the east, and one from the west. The guy at Jacks mentioned that he'd seen non-stop ambulances since he got to work 3 hours earlier. Apparently there were head-ons and roll-overs all day long on the trails.
