Mountain Rd. Esperance, NY

a little late as this ride was from back in may, but here they are anyways...

Schoharie County Jeep Club planned a ride at member gregs house off mountain rd in esperance NY for 5/21/11. it was to be my first wheelin trip other than playing at the club property the tuesday before, so i was excited.

we met at gregs (who owns a toyota crawler) house around 9. it was 2 yota pickups, my tj, 1yj, 2 xjs, and 3 cjs. we were later joined on the trail by 4-5 quads and another 2 cjs.

1st pic- after a short trip through some fields and down the hill its time to hang a u turn and climb back up a step. being 2nd to last, A/T tires, and having it rain 5mins before made the hill pretty slick. i ended up getting spun sideways and almost wedged between 2 trees (this was the one time i seriously considered taking the BL out, it was pretty sketchy being sideways). after spinning my front tires back down the hill i was able to pick another line to the left of this trail. i made it that time but had to work for it.

2nd pic - The sixth sense, built as a mud dragger but he decided to wheel with us on that day.

3rd/4th pics are me dropping down "the ladder" and roundin the bend at the bottom.

5th - small part of the line up

tj owners are gunna hate me haha. i wish i could say i was holding the cherokee from falling up the hill but that wasn't the case. i gave her a go a few times but could only back up bank u drop off of into the mud. my tires were cleaning out good but they just didnt have enuff bite to carry me up the hill and the forth try i slid dangerously close to a tree so miner pulled me up the hill a bit the 4th pic shows miners jeep in mud. this was the base of the hill where he almost wrecked his jeep the month before and he was dead set to climb it this time. nobody made it very far on this trip due to the slick mud. 1 of the cjs sheared a brand new front axle on his 6th or 7th try

a pic of the hill and then a few of miner stuck between a rock and a hard place. he was steadily losing tranny fluid all day and just as he was getting ready to park it and take a look around the jeep rolled forward and down into this hole in the shale pit. last ones is him checkin tranny fluid der der der.

thats about it. i'll be posting another thread from trucks gone wild but i wasnt participating that day as it was a 2.5 hr trip home and i didnt bring a trailer

thanks and happy jeepin
