Thanks for the continued comments. Here are some videos that were taken from my iPhone 4 through the Jeep's windshield.

This first video is short and is of the way down on the Mount Zion trail. I ran into some ATVs coming up and pulled over to give them the right-away so I stopped the video.

This is leaving the Alpine Tunnel. Unfortunately the sun was rising and I was getting reflections off of "contents" on the dash. Sorry about that, but if you're interested in driving this trail, this shows the 12 minute drive. Note that the split rock at 8:06 is shown in one of the pictures I posted on the first page (#2 post) when a train sat next to it.

This is the drive leaving the top of Cottonwood Pass towards Taylor Lake. This is a graded dirt road and very scenic.

And from the top of Rocky Mountain National Park.

I was wanting to take my Jeep out west next year. This gives me more reason to go.

This has to be one of my favorite trail report threads. Your pictures just make it look amazing. I can't wait until I have the chance to move out that way.

^Polecat, I'd love to take you up on that offer if I had a two week vacation, but I think I can only take a week off next summer. Moab is a good three day drive from here...

Grogie - I came across your thread tonight and it made me nostalgic as we took a trip to many of the same places this past summer. We have many of the same pictures, including Hancock, Tin Cup, Taylor Reservoir, Leadville, RMNP, Delaware hotel, Mt. Princeton hot springs pool, The Stanley, etc...

Looking at your original comments, I'm guessing we were there right around the same time, and I wonder if we ever crossed paths. We were there July 12 to Aug 12.

Anyway - great pics & trip report.

^Small world! And wow... you had a month there! I had just seven days in the Rockies.

I don't recall seeing your back LJ... I'd recall a cool Jeep like that!

Good news... I'm going to be working with a local guy to build an off-road box trailer for my westward trips. I'm going to base it off of the Pikes Peak trailer.

I recently installed a Mopar 7-way wiring harness (for an LJ) plus a brake controller. Although the trailer will be light weight and I won't pack it heavy, I intend for the trailer to have electric brakes. Hopefully this will work out as I need more cargo room. Camping in Wyoming is on my schedule for next summer...

Thanks! I like your LJ as well - I debated between black and red...

Funny that you're heading to Wyoming next summer... We're currently debating two possible loops for next summer - either out through Colorado, and north through Wyoming to see more of the northern Rockies (something like this: Google Map Route, or a costal loop up through Oregon & Washington, and then doing the Wyoming trip the following summer.

Maybe we'll cross your path again. Have fun & stay safe out there!

^I like that route! That would be a great trip and I'd also like to see the Yellowstone area. I'm thinking mostly southern Wyoming. And I also use Google maps to plan my routes out.

Oh, I unfortunately don't have an LJ... I just used a 7-way wiring harness that's for an LJ. Mopar made it due to that LJs can tow more with your longer wheelbase. But I'll need the 7-way to run electric trailer brakes.
