Ironic: My GC stays home but I burrow a Cherokee

I recently made the trip from Philly to visit friends and family in my home state - Alaska. My red 97 ZJ Laredo stayed home but I put over 850 miles on a borrowed 90 red Cherokee Limited while we were there.

I took lots of photos, even a few attempts at video with my two Canon cameras. In all I used three cameras, including the camera on my LG cellphone.

Jeep in foreground, momma moose with calf in background. This was our second night there. There were actually twin calves.

The calves together

A look up a stretch of the beach where we needed the Jeep. Three times off- road, one longer run over three miles round trip.

On the beach along Cook Inlet, eagle watching. I have one photo with over twenty Bald eagles and as many gulls in the frame.

The shadow of the Cherokee shows how close we were able to get.

And, a money shot..... not the best photo I took there but this is indicative of what we were seeing.

Clam digging at low tide.

my GPS after a nine day visit. FYI we were never more than 275 miles from Anchorage. (ignore gas numbers. different car and crazy prices. ~$4.40 per gallon for regular)
