Fordyce Trail 10-21-07

Jim (mtngoht) and I hit the Fordyce trail on October 21'st with the Posse4x4 club. We went in at Eagle Lakes and cut out at the Comittee trail and went out at Cisco Grove. What a great day.

Jim at the first river crossing.

Me at the top of Winch Hill #1

Jim coming up Winch Hill #1, and then his victory flex at the top.

Jim at the Comittee Trail crossing.

So Jim........you gonna get some bigger tires.

"I'll NEVER go any bigger than 33's".........

Yeah right! How many times have you read that on this board......

35's are going on ASAP. I'll have them by the next Fordyce run for sure.

I've never been to Fordyce. Are there ways to get through Fordyce without the water crossings?

Nope. You have to cross the river I think 5 times.

Pretty cool pics. I hit Fordyce for the first time last October. We drove about 2 hours past the first crossing. We turned around because there was a big line of people because of a broke down Bronco was stuck in the middle of the trail.

With the spring weather showing here in sunny CA, I was wondering how early I could hit Fordyce trail? Obviously I know that with the heavy snow fall this winter, the water crossings might be too deep until later in the year. I just figured it would be a pretty cool day trip to go from Eagle Lakes to the first crossing and turn around.

If the water levels are too high, Signal Peak is a fun trail to run, it's right there at the Four Dice trailhead. I like to camp in the forest service campground and run day trips all ove the area. Great fishing, fun wheeling and miles and miles to explore.

Still gonna be a while as I was up there snowmobiling near Meadow Lake last week which is the top of the trail and there is at least a good 8 feet in some spots.
