Dracula Land and Balkan Peninsula

It's the second time we had the ambition to circle arround during a 10 days tough journey 5 of the most remote but unspoiled natural reserves and communities in my country.
The entire tour was strechted along 5.000 km and even if we visit again many unspotted sights were catched on camera.
Bellow Some pics (100% Romania aka The Land of Dracula") which some were tooken from the Jk.
...Enisala/Heracleea Fortress...

... Conquered....

... we crossed the Carphatian Mountains using a old Roman road which is used also in these days ...

... up there we enjoyed the views...

More 2 come!

... Crossed again the mountains ...

...had some birdeye views...

... descending...

...passing through narrow gorges....

...cooling down a bit...

...resting at the Romanian Stone Henge (Sarmisegetusa) conquered in 106 Ad by the Romans..

...stretching our feets and cooling again...

...warming up close to vulcanos ...

...socializing...

More to come!

Nice pics. A lot of them remind me of the Ouray, Colorado area and the Alpine Loop. Thanks for sharing!

Over the mountains and through the woods, across the stream and up the slickrock, down the canyon and over the rocks to nobody's house I go.

as promised

BRAN CASTLE - This is not Dracula Castle as mentioned in several travel guides. Last owner is the former Romanian King Mihai I of Romania.
Outside Pics

Inside the castle

Indoors :-)

IN south of Romania in some regions it was registered aprox 4 meters of snow.
Some pics here with some friends from GTC Motorsport 4x4 Club in a humanitarian offroad intervention together with army.
It is unbelievable and since 1954 such snow was never registered.

Part of my offroad friends are still there helping army and police to distribute food and medical suport for people in need

extreme winter conditions (wind blows at 50-70 km/h at -25C)

extreme competition cars were put into action seriously :-) along the snowmobiles taken from other regions to travel over mountains of snow

so as you see I could say we enjoyed this winter a lot

Thanks for the pictures of Bran Castle. I was talking to a girl on a cruise ship that lived close to it.

That is more snow that I have seen in years.

Thanks John. It is always a treat to see your pictures.
