Canyon Sin Nombre and Painted Gorge

The access from Canyon Sin Nombre to the Diablo dropoff is now blocked due to a canyon wall collapse from the rains. We made it up the the collapse and couldn't go any farther.

This is what the area was like just up from the collapse, silt like mud at least a couple feet deep.

We backtracked out and went south to the Painted Gorge near Plaster City. It was open (but closes from January 1st to June 30th). Great colors and views from there.

Is that in Arroyo Seco Del Diablo? I haven't seen a fall that big in awhile. There was a lot of damage back there after the Easter earthquake and a couple of us got stuck behind one once, fun times

I really need to get out there one weekend and poke around, wonder how the Mud caves held up

It's in the first turn off from the Vallecito Wash going to the drop off. A few miles in, its all mud from the walls that collapsed so a really good gusher should wash it out.
