Badlands April 19, 2009
Today was another amazing day at the Badlands in Attica, Indiana. Started off on the green trails where we didnt get any pictures because my wife forgot the memory card for our camera at home and the Cherokee down there with me had the driver and a spoter so no pictures were taken but the stock XJ did very well going down the green trails Most Difficult route of those rocks in the ditch.
Next we decided to head to the rock quary. Did mostly easy stuff as this was my first time in the Jeep down there since adding the lift kit on. I kept my sway bars on as I have yet to put on longer brake lines. ![]() ![]() That dog was following us the whole time we were in the Quary. Good dog but is in the way alot. But here it was leading me down some rocks. ![]() My wife enjoyed this picture as it showed the dog she wanted to steal as it was following us around and tried jumping in our Jeeps a couple of times. Once it even knocked my wife over and tried to lick her face. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Poser shot. ![]() Getting sideways. Seemed way more intese inside the Jeep. ![]() ![]() ![]() Running the creek ![]() Got stuck while running some sidetrails Next we headed over to the orange trails. On the left side down by the farmers field was completly flooded and un-runable except at the very begining. No pics to show as we were limited on space. Next comming out of the orange trail. It felt as if we were going to flip over backwords. That shot is bad showing the angle of it. ![]() Then we tried going up some of the crappy sand/gravel hills and my tires dug in to much that I decided I needed to just put it in reverse and go back down the hill to not dig myself in anybigger of a hole. As I was comming down I hit one of the things that the quads use to make really fast turns and almost rolled on myside. Took my friend Ed who is of "healthy" weight to stand on my side running boards and the XJ pulling me sideways and backwords to not roll over. Well then this happened turning around ![]() ![]() Was stuck for a good 45 mins shoveling myself out and finally Levi from NWI Jeepers came by and winched me out. Thanks a bunch if you read this again. Decided to run the green again and as we were heading up that big hill my buddies XJ had the muffler rip off the manifold so we put it back on and decided that enough was enough and to go ahead and leave before some thing major broke. ![]() ![]() Well the muffler fix only lasted a few minutes and qucikly fell off again right after leaving the park. So we put it on again and made it just onto 41 were it fell off again. This time we just unplugged the O2 sensor and took it off to make the 2 hr journey home. We are going to go out to the garage soon to start working on it. Again sorry for little pictures but blame the wife....

That dog must live in the rock quarry because it was there on the 4th when we were there. My daughter made friends with it too and wanted to take it home. You can see what my answer was...
