Is this worth it?

Hi all, Over from the CJ forum..

I have a chance to buy a 1986 J10 for 1500

Has meyers 4 way plow
64000 miles
I6
4wd
New rear tires,
New radiator
New tranny cooler lines
New Paint
No noticable body rot
New exhaust

It's a one owner since 1985 when it was bought brand new. Now the little old man is retired and doesn't drive it back and forth to work anymore. Years ago he did some small commercial plowing, but nothing major.

It just passed CT state emmisions also.

Jeep needs nothing from I can tell to get it plowing for the winter.

Are these Jeeps worth snow plowing in? I plan on doing commercial plowing, driveways and such with it. I've been building a CJ7 for a few weeks now to get snowplowing, but if I can buy this today, and plow with it during the next snow storm, do you think it'd be worth it?

Old man wants 1500 for it. I'm not going to try and talk him down, I've known him since the late 80s, and don't want to try and rip him off.

What do y'all think?

Sounds like a heck of a deal to me!

Just make sure to climb under it and check for frame rot, especially near the rear frame shackles.

Good heavy truck for plowing.

Congratulations!

She looks like a fine truck, especially for $1500!

thats a great looking truck. I wish we had more snow in texas, i would have an excuse to own a plow and make some jack with it.

yeah, we got it, now we find all the little quirks expected with a 19yr old truck.

Somebody hacked the vacuum lines, OMG, it's horrible, truck wouldn't even idle properly, we got that pretty much figured out.

WHAT a lack of power! 65speed limit! HAHAAHAAA, not in this lifetime!

Valve tap too, comes and goes.

But, the plow works, heater works, new cutting edge on the plow, all sorts of other spare parts too...

Ahh, we already have used it for our chickens, rabbits, auction, etc. Well worth the money considering it has a plow.
