Wiper Linkage (New FSJ to me!!)

Ok, so I've got an 88 GW with a wiper issue. First off, I replaced the motor because the gears were stripped but I got to looking into the problem and found that there was a REASON for that! With the linkage disconnected from the motor, I can only move the wipers about halfway through their path. How the hell do I get behind the dash to find out what's wrong? I pulled the stereo out - I can see the passenger side linkage but cannot touch it. Any ideas?? This dash looks like a PITA to get apart!! Thanks ahead of time!

BTW - Pic of my new toy.

I had to take apart the glovebox and 1/2 the AC to get into mine. Before you do that. see if the wipers are both going the same direction when you move the arm. I had one where the arm flipped on one side and it locked but the wipers tried to swing inwards at the same time! I had to force the pass side arm back over center with the driver's side arm off so it wouldn't hit the edge of the glass.
