willys utility question

i have 3 hoods for willys utility trucks and they have an emblem with the willys-overland symbol. today i got a hood that had a "4" with a red background as the symbol on the emblem. did this indicate the truck had a 4 cylinder motor (ionly have the hood to the truck so i dont know) or did this mean something more?

Got a pic of the emblem? It might mean 4 wheel drive (back when it was first available)
