white bumpers

I have just purchased a 1970 kaiser jeep wagoneer that has white bumpers. Are these a stock (original) bumper? Both front and rear.

I would rather have a tool I don't need, than need a tool I don't have.

In that era, the customer could have ordered just about any configuration that could be built from the available parts. Jeep was easy about configurations that did not exist in the sales literature. IIRC the Wagoneer came with chrome bumpers standard (by 1970), but the J-trucks had painted bumpers, chrome optional. I would not be surprised if fleet cars were ordered with painted bumpers, to reduce the price a little. It's the same parts as used on the J-trucks.

Pics are in !!!

Everyone...meet Ethel . My girlfriend has always wanted a Jeep Wagoneer...she found Ethel in Denver. I had Ethel shipped to Vermont. Completely surprised her. Dubbed her "Ethel"....long story...
She is a 1970 Custom Wagoneer with a Buick "Dauntless" 350 V8. Everything is original. Very little rust anywhere on her, Ethel not my girlfriend. We are having all the fluids changed, radiator flushed out, belts, gaskets, filters, bearings, u-joints etc. taken care of. When we got her home she was not running very smooth at all...like a lub lub lub type idle.....guess what...someone had the incorrect firing order on her......now she purrrrrs like a kitten a couple of more seals to take care of then we can clean her up and hit the hills.....
back to my original question.....are the white bumper stock ?

Is there chrome under the paint? If not, it likely came that way.

Otherwise, without the original sales invoice, there's no way to tell. The painted bumper is a factory part for Jeep trucks from the same era, and it fits both the wagons and the trucks. I would bet that the grille has been painted.

You can reread my post above. The pictures don't change what I wrote there.

My dad owned a 70 with white grill, and bumpers. Other than his being turquoise, it looked just as the pics above.
