what years for narrow axle swap

i am looking for a donor for front axle swap d-44 for my yj. what years of grand wagoneers had the narrow front axle? and are they driver side pumpkin?

80-83 Wagoneers and 84-91 Grand Wagoneers had the narrow track Dana 44 front axle. You might want to avoid the 83 and 84s as this had the troublesome vacuum disconnect axle. For the rear axles, the 86- 91s had the centered/narrow Dana 44. From 80-85, they were one-piece AMC 20s which are as good as the 44s and not like the 20s found in CJs. You may also find some 80-83 narrow track full size Cherokees with the front 44 and rear 20.

Keep in mind they are all geared 2.72 or 3.31 and only the ones with NP229 '82 to '85 have the vacuum front axle. Basically if it's a stock 4 dr, it's narrow track (for the full size rigs that is). Some of the 2drs are narrow track (only 1/2 the ones with flared fenders are)
