Put in new spark plugs, new fuel filter, new battery, new battery cables, new temperature sending unit, cleaned the carb, and tried to start her up. Alas, coughing and sputtering was all i could muster from her. But tomorrow is another day

Replaced the original fuel tank sending unit and all the lines. The lines were on the verge of disintegrating in my hands, and the filter sock was gummed up and torn. I guess the tear was the only way the fuel could get by- seems like the truck starts much easier now.

Then, I added a shiny new trans pan from Rock Auto to replace my old bent, warped and ground down old pan. It set me back a whole $21 plus has a drain plug.

tried to drive it to work. About half way through my 20 mile commute, it decided to blow a brake line. Limped it back home, and am now trying to track down some new front brake hoses.

Will do! Going to be a couple more weeks at least, going to see some family this week, then having family over the week after. Probably not cool to have Gramma and Great Aunt out in the garage wrenching with dad and I.

Or Maybe it's REALLY cool?

When I put a tach in mine, I couldn't find a full sweed 4K tach, so I just an 8K one that had the 4, 6, or 8 cylinder switch on the back, and set it to 4 cylinder mode. For now, I just divide the displayed rpm in half, but once I finish the new face for the tach, I'll have a full sweep 4K tach.
