Green I have the same issue, I used universal seals from bjs. Doors are hell to shut now, noticed these do not have the air pressure relief holes which I think are compressing the air inside the seal causing hard to close. That or the non mitered corners. Likely im going to just pony up for the factory OEM design. I might try using a hole punch to cut my own air holes.....ugh

Got the ones from teamgrandwagoneer.com. Not the super fancy pre glued ones. Just the regular ones.

Never even thought of pressure relief holes. May try a few

Phase 1 of Oil Leak reduction completed..... Tonight Ill rebuild the Oil pump and resurface the plate as I think its the main source of my leak vs. rear main.

Changed the valve covers and gaskets out to my new set. Was planning to wait until I had time to do the heads/cam/lifters/intake/carb swap. But figured if this kills the leak for now.. well still leaking

Rebuilt oil pump. Rear main leak is last part then I should be leak free. Re surfaced adapter inside of case was in decent shape. 40 psi just cranking on starter.

Oil pressure is 50+ now no matter what. Holds 55 cruising but also doesnt drop into the 20s once warm.anymore it remains solid. Would guess that means my internals are solid, bearings etc.

Good report Super. Now I just have to get my shop set up....again...and I can get at the page long list of annoyances on Clawed.
So far day 4 of 150+ mile days, and still trucking along. Mostly interstate driving, still averaging 13.5mpg at 70-75mph (the 4bbl kicks in at 80)

Nice, what altitude are you at? mine will run right at 95-100 @ 1/2 pedal on the two barrel. I know it was rebuilt, presuming its .030 over but dont know what cam or pistons etc. I dont think the compression is all that high.

Just finished my longest round trip since I got the waggy. 650 miles over one weekend. She was perfect.
Finished a few things prior to the trip like the sun visors(recovered headliner had to finish the last visor), put a new Grant wood steering wheel on there, finished the tailgate carpet piece and more.

Got some new shoes, rebuilt the front end. It became my wife's daily driver since we sold the Cherokee.

Now to get the AC lines fabbed up and get it working. Add full tint, and redo the interior. Should be super clean!
