Wagoneer

Hey Ya'll,
I am hopin someone here can tell me if it is possible to get the key codes for a 1978 Jeep Wagoneer. Also, does anyone know of any parts houses for these vehicles. It would be easier if this was a CJ, but it aint. Appreciate any help... Terry

Check out www.bjsoffroad.com for FSJ parts. Also, www.ifsja.org for information & a REALLY good FSJ forum.
As for key codes, I wouldn't count on finding anything from the AMC days like that. You'll probably have to replace the ignition or locks that you want changed unless a good locksmith can reverse engineer the key from the tumbler.

The door lock and ignition keys were usually the same so you can pull off your door lock and have a locksmith make a key. When you open your door, look at the back edge of the door level with the key tumbler. You'll see a flat piece of metal in a slot. This is the clip that holds the tumbler in place. Pull that clip and the tumbler comes right out.
