TH 400 questions

Hello. I recently purchased a 1976 J-10. I need to purchase the spacer that goes between the filter and the valve body. Also, I would like to purchase the correct pickup tube and o-ring. I am having problems getting these parts through my local auto parts stores. Does anyone have a suggestion for where to order these online? Also, I need some TCL-1 for the BW1339. I appreciate any tips, websites, etc. I'm looking forward to getting the Jeep back on the road.

What spacer are you referring to? I have never seen a spacer on the filter mounting bolt. The filter hangs loosely on the mounting bolt so it can float up or down depending on fluid level. Go to the Int'l Full Size Jeep Assoc. www.ifsja.org and you may be able to find the other parts. As for the QT fluid, you can order it through BJ's Offroad or make your own fluid by mixing 3 quarts of 30W non-detergent motor oil and 8 oz of limited slip additive.

I was referring to the spacer between the filter and the valve body, but I'm starting to gather that this spacer is only used with the deep pans. So, new question, if the filter is moving up and down with fluid level, what maintains the connection between the filter and the pickup tube? The o-rings? seems like the pickup tube would constantly be coming disconnected from the filter.
