tailgate window problem

So I have been having problems with the tailgate window going up and down. So I thought it might be the safty latch so I by-passed it by splicing the two brown wires together. Thought that fixed it but now it does not always want to go down using the key but can get it to go down using the switch in the cab when I wiggle the switch and get it just so. I am thinking it must have somthing to do with the switch the key operates. How can I test this? and where can I buy a new one? Thanks for any help

Mine hasn't worked since I got it. You can try replacing the wires first. Use a test light to check voltage with key off and on.

Not sure if you'll find a new one. Could pull the switches and clean em. I just did that on mine over the weekend, didn't know the window could move so fast

That is what our kit is for. The switch inside the tailgate.
