One Bad SJ!

This beauty was introduced in Moab this week by Jeep's MOPAR Underground vehicles division and reported by Four Wheeler's Blog:

Here's their story about it:

"This is a '78 Cherokee Chief that was fabricated by current and retired Chrysler LLC Jeep engineers from a rust-free SJ found in Oregon. Its long list of equipment includes a 6.1L Hemi, Rock-Trac 4:1 transfer case, JK Rubicon axles, Wrangler 4.5-inch long arm suspension, and Goodyear MT/R 37-inch tires. This thing is a blast to drive. We'd like to think that Jeep is considering trotting out a retro Wagoneer."

Look closely at the tires...those are the NEW MT/Rs!

I'd like to see the longarm kit. Looks like a leafspring front end to me.

I don't think they'd lie about it, and you can clearly see the left coil spring and part of the right coil in the pic.

My project

Been sitting in a garage ~20-25 years but was a good runner when parked. 1965/327/automatic 98k. It's gunna take a little time to get her going again.
Not great pics she's in tight quarters right now.

How are you getting pics in post?

My 1980 j'truck I got from my grandfather. He bought it new in 80, parked it around 1991. After sitting for 17 years, I got it from him last year.
