Replace pie plates and seats

Hi to all. New to the forum and need some input. I bought a 1983 j10 in really decent shape and want to fix it up with my own touches. I read somewhere that the pie plates can be cut out and a bucket put behind them for auxiliary lights. I was thinking of putting fog lights there. Wondering what bucket to use or if someone remembers where how to do this.
The bench seat is really messed up and needs to be reupholstered or replaced. Thinking of bucket seats and someone said that seats from a CJ would work. Anyone tried this? Priced a few upholstery shops and they are ridiculous. Any comments appreciated
