Project 1976 J10 *Pics*

So I've had my J10 for about 2 months now and I've made a good amount of progress so I'm gonna post up some pics. It started out as basically a $700 truck. Its got the 258 6cyl, T-150 3speed, and dana 20 with D44s. I originally wanted to paint it like the truck from Twister and build a "dorthy for the bed but I realized that would be too much work I decided to go with the summit racing flame red...

Here's what I started with:

and then the progression...

And here is is for the most part finished, I have just a couple loose ends to finish up like painting the tailgate, line the bed, and reinstall the light bar and fix several mechanical issues with the 4x4.

x2. I saw the pic on ifsja with the primer in the garage and thought you stole my pics. That same day I primed mine, and looked identical.

Excellent work on the paint btw, looks amazing.

Not exactly sure on the wheels I'll see what I can check tomorrow, I wanna say American Racing, they do have 11.5" tires on them though. The bumpers came with the truck and I'd estimate them at about 15 years old and they don't have a manufacturer stamp on them. By looking at the bumper on BJs, its not the killer 32 though, doesn't have a winch mount.

Nice! Wish I had time (and energy when I had the time!) to work on mine. I have a '76 shortbed I started to fix up, then I found an '82 Honcho with the full package, so I'm building it instead.
I have the 360/T18A/NP208 coming out to go with the '76 (I have an '88 Chev stepside box to go with it) and it already has J20 axles with low gears and 33/12.50/16.5 tires on alloys.

Classy! I almost picked up a j10 but didn't think I had the time/money to fix it up. I'm kinda regretting it after looking at this...

No idea haha, the only main rust on it is the floors were pretty gone, they're all patched up with fiberglass and other pieces of sheet metal now. The bed has some holes in the wheel wells too but an easy easy fix. The truck was undercoated too, and believe it or not, it had the "Rust Buster" installed, must have worked for a while until it all came unplugged everywhere.

Finally painted the tailgate last weekend and got the new vinyl letters stuck on from BJs Offroad! I also painted the hood piece and got that on now too. The truck is sort of for sale right now too.
