Oil Drain plug

My 1983 Wagoner has a 1/2-20 double oversize oil drain plug in it that stripped out today when I was changing the oil. Has anyone had luck in tapping it & making it a bigger size? Not sure what else to do at this point.

Buy a new oil pan. Im having the same issue with my 73 J-truck 360. I retapped mine to a metric size. New bolt stays tight but oil still drips from it. Im currently using an o-ring around the base and I think its working but Ive only put one quart of oil in it so far may not be enough to test completely but i havent had a chance to full with it much.
