Only when it's cold. Only in reverse. I used an old radiator hose and traced it to the cover after all.

I will be working on it today and update it later. I know for a fact it's coming from the bell housing though. I used an old radiator house to isolate it ( like a stethoscope) and it was in there. I'm going to also check my bell housing bolts as well.

Took it to AAMCO. The shop foreman drove it down the street with me. He instantly recognized it as the plate between the engine and tranny rubbing the flywheel under load. He said if it was a pump it would has been dead by now.

Thanks for sharing - do you know what the fix is? Is this a tranny rebuild issue? something loose that just needs to be tightened up?

I think I will be pulling mine out to straighten it. It will require unbolting the flywheel and sliding the tranny back to pull it out.
