New to me 77 Cherokee Chief

Picked up this beauty the other day. Was going to be parts for Apricot, my j-10, but it's too nice.
360 w/ m/c 4bbl
th400/qtrac/d44s front and rear
crappy prestocrap ignition
a/c
ONE dent
Has power rear window, but off track. How good are these motors? Or is there an upgrade motor I'll have to do?
has rear seats, but they're out of an old ford van. blue plaid captains chair. not bolted down.
BARELY fit on the trailer
Has trailer hitch

p/o bought it at an estate auction 10 years ago. Couldn't get it going. There was something wrong with the ignition sytem (that'd be the prestocrap) that he couldn't figure out. There's a spare duraspark box in the glovebox.
Was sitting 5 miles from mexico. Oddly has rust on underside of hood. Nowhere else.
Plans for it depend upon what is in my shed. New dist. Either points, cause I know I have one of those, or an elec with the homemade hei (i know i have the box, not sure about the dist).
Probably switch my gladiator grill onto it, and put the razor on my truck.
If I've got another quadrajet, it'll go on. If not, I'll do whatever I can with the m/c. Unless I can convince my bud to hook me up with his extra holley.
Probably just gonna run her as she is, but may do lift if needed. My stock j10 makes it everywhere down here. This is my third nonrunning chief i've bought. And it was the cheapest and most complete. I'm taking the sign, and am gonna have a cherokee. Now I just need to find a g/w

and an FC

have pics to put up, but site not letting me. Will do so as soon as able

Thats nice, those southwest states are great for finding relative rust free specimens. I don't blame you for wanting to preserve it.

Nice jeep. Makes me want another one. The Prestolite never did me wrong on the 401. The Motorcraft however gave me a bunch of issues, Mostly the modules and I wanted to push the performance envelope with them.. even converting to TFI. I finally changed to the Ready to Run MSD, and never looked back. Definately gave me what I was looking for and Im not even using a fancy box with it.

so far, i've found a points dist, an elec dist, another prestocrap, and one quadrajet.
I have way too many projects going on, but am getting them down one by one so I can work on the new jeep.
