New to the forum, but not Full Size Jeeps...

I have been lurking around for some time while looking for a Cherokee. I finally picked up a 83 wide trac Friday. It needs a good bit but the body is in great shape, interior needs doing, that's not a big deal since that is what I do for a living. Has some mechanical issues, nothing major though. Hoping to have it on the road in the next couple of weeks. I will do my best to get some pics took and posted tomorrow. Looks like a great forum for a full size jeep lover.

Thanks for the welcome RockRollin.

Thanks for posting your pic jeepdj5. Mine is black and if I decide to paint it I was thinking about going with a flat black paint job. If ya don't mind me asking, what paint did you use?

I used oil based $32 a gallon fleet farm paint! Looks good for my first car I plan on getting a junker for every day use and make this a trail truck. I only used half of the gallon of paint and that includes two coats! It looks good and should last! It's got a texture like bed liner but I like it that way! Can't wait to get my permit on next Tuesday!

What is ya'lls opinion of the wheels? Everyone that looked at it today said they would clean them up and use them, that you don't see them anymore. I was wanting to go with some steel wagons but the more I look at them the more I like them.

That interior color combo is SWEET!! That is one ominous looking rig with that brush guard. Looks solid too, Great score! Wheels look OK IMO, but I prefer wagon wheels or Honcho style on the Cherokees

I agree that those rims are neat, and you hardly see them anywhere anymore, but dang are they ugly on a cherokee. Maybe cleaning them up will help, but I'd be selling those thing right away.

Beauty is in the eye of the jeepowner.
