new engine

I am looking to either rebuild my 4.0L or put in a new engine into my 88 Comanche. I have a 5 speed transmission and was wondering if there are any V8s out there that would bolt in (like the 318 out of Grand) If anyone can give me some tips - appritiate it.

hmmm, if im remembering correctly, i said something about changing a Grand Cherokee into manual one time and someone said something about the AX-5 tranny not working with a V8 due to torque reasons, but i could be wrong, sorry i couldnt be much help with that one... good luck with eveything on it...
