Going to clean the 35 years of built up grease underneath, that should take me a while then drain & refill the axles, trans, t/case, and coolant. Then get to work on a box of parts.

So after replacing the fuel tank, it was still a little loose even after the straps were tightened all the way, so I stuck the chunk of wood where it was before, and it tightened up just fine now. It's in the right upper part of the picture, that's upside down, oops!

The smog pump was seized and belt gone, so I replaced it with a new one but the bolts for the pulley and the mounting bolt were metric instead of standard like the old one . Took a while for Dad and I rummaging through boxes of nuts and bolts, but managed to fine some metrics that would work.

Old bolts no worky

Fuel pump off, that's not just one gasket but 2! : someone has been here before! Took a while of scraping and filing to get the original gasket off.

Fuel pump installed, NAPA pump much more user friendly than the one that was on there, the fuel line on the old one was almost impossible to get the clamp off without taking everything apart.

New smog pump came without the hose nipple. Had to transfer over from old one.

Last new rubber fuel line connected, so now the fuel system is all brand new, no more issues there! (except metal lines and carb, to be rebuilt in the future)
