And here's a little video of it running/driving. Pay no attention to the lifter noise, exhaust noise, and various other unknown noises

Lifters stuck, I put some rislone in it but didn't run it very long, maybe that will help. And the y-pipe is rusted out at the y so the exhaust kinda sorta gets to the muffler. Much work to do!

In Ely, NV. I don't need anything right now, except maybe a left front bumper end, or rear bumper not rusted but I'm sure I will someday You're going to like Carson City, it's a great town, I looked for work there before I moved to Vegas. Are you getting rid of the J truck or taking it with you?

Lived in Carson for about 7 yrs already. Been just about everywhere, and that's the only place I've wanted to go back to.
I actually got my 76 in Carson, and she will be with me until one of us dies. The 81 parts truck, though, that one I don't like (they look so stupid without the brow)

I'll probably be making a couple trips this summer back to Ely to do a little work on it, the plan is to get it back here before winter sets in again. Let me know if your headed up that way

Love the photos of the patina'd truck against the southwest landscape... emailed it to some friends to show it off

I hope to learn enough about restoration someday to buy my own J truck and get it working as a daily driver.

Wow the Liberty Club haven't been there in years! I try to stay out of the bars there now though, they always seemed to get me in trouble

That's my goal to make it a dd, but with the price of gas, even if it can, I won't

whatever, its not that bad. What's a standard full size pickup get these days? 13-15?

I pulled in 13mpg on the way to/from Zion last year.

Heck, even a built TJ will only get 12-15 max.

If I can get 13 out of this thing that would be awesome, I'll drive the hell out of it!
