Nice
That is going to be a very nice FSJ when you finish those mods. You might look for a Dana 44 or bigger for the rearend. Pics as you go are always nice

At first i was going to try and find a 44 but. After doing some looking around i think all im going to do is pull the 20 and weld up the tubes and make a cross over brace. from what i under stand they have a bigger ring and pinion

You should do a grill and headlight/marker light swap from the 60's wagoneers, makes the front end look awesome and gets rid of those square headlights and huge chrome grill. Plus the sheetmetal and holes are already there, just hidden by new components. Just a thought

Cool. nice snag on the free waggy. I dig the head lights, I'm gonna do that soon. I keep getting flashed for my baja lights, but I can't see anything with my dim stock lights.
That tire and wheel combo are gonna look tight. You might notice some rub on the springs when you turn unless you have enough backspacing to push the tire out, but then you are into your fenders on stuff. I reversed my front 6" springs for a little wheel base stretch and cut down a longer XJ drive shaft, I took that front corner of the fender off and will throw flares on later. It helps with approach angle if you plan on hitting the trails. You can see the fender chop in one of the pictures in my registry page(the bumper will be coming off) The rear is trimmed too, as you might hit the front of the rear fender when you stuff tires. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f269/war-wagon-910106/ Remember to adjust that draglink after you do the lift. Don't worry about the AMC 20, it will be fine if you are thrashing it with 33's. I have a spare pig-nose I plan on blacking out with epoxy paint...I think it looks better than chrome on pignose grills. That color is sweet and will look GOOD if you de-wood/repaint it. Welcome to the FSJ world. *********************** on a side note...is that the stock pump/regulator on that air compressor? My Husky just bit the dust, and won't come on anymore. I'm pretty sure the circuit card is done. If you swapped out the pump could you pm me with details on where you picked it up please?

You know, I agree with the PO - that thing should probably just go straight to the bone yard.
You want me to take it there for ya? No really, It's no problem....

To CutterN55 thanks for all the input. I got the back spacing matt from bjs offroad recommended so it should work. The husky air compressor is all new. I scored at home depot. For a cool buck 30.
O and I plan on painting this jeep a dark gun metal color. And I want to put the muscle grill in. Just having a time to find one. |

up date
so here it is. best part i didnt have to drop the tank. suckest part was putting in the leafs man that sucked. so i went to put my new dif cover on and i forgot all about the vaccum lock. so i now need to find a new shaft to put in the drivers side. and the other problem im running into is i dont think the rear parking brake lines are long enough. i cut off the tabs that hold them to frame in the rear. seemed to help but i think it still is to tight. any imput would be great.
damn upload is not working |
