Little lever on top of the 'hump' next to driver's seat

Greetings! I have a question about what this little black lever is for. I have a Quadra-trac equipped Cherokee with the T400 transmission. There is a small black lever on the top/side of the transmission hump. My only thought was that it was the high/low range selector. Unfortunately the plastic is so worn it doesn't have any markings. Any ideas?

Awesome! You wouldn't by chance have put a red J-truck up on Ebay a couple weeks ago?

Awesome! Might have to wait till some warmer weather, still working on the carb rebuild and its too cold in the garage to be fun right now. Did you pick up that Wag that was for sale on CL a few weeks back? Looked pretty nice.
