leaking doors?

The weather strip on my Wagoneer must not be right or I'm missing something. I keep finding my driver side floor wet wjen it rains. The driver side back floor as well. What can I try to fix this? I don't want my floor to rust out

as for the front door....you have the regular weatherstrip that goes around the entire door/frame. Along the front of the door, vertically, is another piece. And then there's the inside, outside, and around the windows. Door handle and door lock have gaskets.

Anything that comes in the door SHOULD drain out the holes in the bottom. Have you made sure those drains are clear?

Could also come from your roof rack gaskets, and leaking down your pillars.

Mine leaks through the windshield gasket, down the a pillar/kick panel, and onto the floor.

It could also be leaking in through the cowl/fresh air vent. There are supposed to be drains behind the fresh air vents (in the kick panel area), but leaves and stuff can get in there and block the drain. Then, when it rains, all the water that makes it's way into the cowl (slotted area in front of the windshield) will collect behind the air vent flappers and make it's way into the cabin.

The cowl vent is a good place to look. You might also have a gap in the caulking that seals the kick panel to the cowl.

This is what you see when you drop the passenger side of the AC and look up under the dash.

The roof skin is welded to the drip rail. It may have some caulk, but I don't think so. Typically the gutter is filled from the outside with seam sealer - you can attack it with a screwdriver and it will pop out. Rather than the caulk failing, more likely you have rust-through. If one of the POs routinely left the windows open overnight, water tends to condense on the underside of the roof skin. There's not a lot of paint there, and this can cause rust-through at the drip rails.

You're going to have to take the headliner down to inspect it.

The example above is my '82 J20, which lived in Arizona all its life till I brought it here. I'd guess that rain is so infrequent there, that no one bothered to look for the leak. If you put a hose in the cowl vent, water comes gushing out of that gap. Even as an AZ car, it still had some floor rust.

I know I have rust through it's got random cancer on drip rails oddly 95% of the rest of rig is rust free, not even a spot on any of the floors. One rear qtr needs cut rewelded due to crap repair on a prev rust spot. Guessing I can grind out and reweld the drip rails, reseal them then respray it.
