Just bought 1964 J200

I just bought a 1964 J200 that is a little rough but runs well. I was told it has a GM 350 small block (not sure what year yet), four speed manual trans, Dana 44's front and rear I believe, and 35 inch mud tires. No power steering or brakes, so needless to say it's a bit of a handful on the highway. Also I NEVER use first gear and can start from a dead stop in third. I am contemplating power steering, power brakes, and an automatic transmission (TH700R4 for the overdrive). What are the pros and cons of scavenging said parts from a donor vehicle, and what type/years should I look for? Or is it better in the end to buy a conversion kit from a dealer? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!
